Launch of Mistral Large 4
On Tuesday, French AI lab Mistral AI unveiled Mistral Large 4 (ML4), a large multimodal model aimed to leapfrog both American and Chinese rivals. This follows what French President Emmanuel Macron described as a 'third way' in AI.
Nicknamed 'Le Chonk,' ML4 boasts one trillion parameters, and though its weights aren't publicly available yet, the model can currently be accessed via a public guardrail endpoint. Mistral plans to release the weights in three weeks after completing safety tests.
